One Of Those Quick ‘n Easy Recipes

So, the short story behind this recipe. It was 4pm, Linden was about to wake up from his nap and I realized I had nothing planned for dinner. So this was what was whipped up! And, it was pretty good!

Chinese Five Spice Lettuce Bowls

  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: about 20 minutes

Servings:2-4

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Ground turkey (or chicken, or beef)
  • 1 tbsp. olive or canola oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp. Chinese Five Spice
  • Green onions, thinly sliced
  • ginger, freshly grated
  • Carrots, thinly sliced
  • Celery, thinly sliced
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Lettuce

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat
  2. Add the turkey (chicken or beef) and season with salt, pepper and Chinese Five Spice
  3. Brown and crumble the meat as it cooks
  4. Add garlic, hoisin sauce, ginger, onions, carrots and celery and cook until tender
  5. Add lettuce to a bowl and top with the ground turkey mixture
