Hey! I’m Kaylesha and thanks for checking out my blog. I have thought about starting a blog for a long time…well actually that is a lie, I have started many blogs in the past but they have all been for my day jobs! I finally decided as I am on maternity leave to wipe off the spit up, get out of my lulus (actually they are still on), have a hot cup of coffee (finally), get my creative juices flowing again and share this wonderful journey I am on! Here’s a little about me…
My name is Kaylesha (Kay-Leesh-ah) and I live in beautiful Maple Ridge, British Columbia with my recently grown family of three. I live with my best friend and husband Kevin and my perfect, amazing, wonderful, incredible, adorable, angelic (I could go on forever.. don’t get me started…) son Linden! I am currently on maternity leave (which I am LOVING) but my day job (and passion) is my career as a Marketing Director in retail.
Kevin is the Chief Operating Officer for a family-owned business called Meridian Meats & Seafood and Meridian Farm Market. We both (and hopefully Linden), have a passion for fresh food and taking a bite out of life! When you read my blog you will notice a lot of our life revolves around food. We love food! When we aren't shopping for food, cooking food, eating food, or searching for the next restaurant to eat at… we are talking about food and recipes or foods we want to try! We even plan our travels (our second favorite hobby) around restaurants we want to try (I hate to use the term, but we are FOODIES). As mentioned, we also love to travel and are always trying to find somewhere new to visit, engulf ourselves in the local scenery and culture, check out the hot touristy locales, but also some cool off-the-beaten-path locations!
Another reason why I wanted to start this blog was that there was something I heard often when I was pregnant that bugged me. As soon as I shared the bumping-exciting news, I was often flooded with comments like “your life as you know it is over”, “there goes all your traveling”, “no more fancy meals for you anymore”, and I just don’t believe that to be true! He makes all these experiences even more memorable (even if there is a little more planning and a little more flexibility involved). Linden hasn’t hindered our lives at all! In fact by the time he was four months old Linden had been on six flights, eaten at countless restaurants (and I’m not counting fast-food joints or traditional “family-friendly fare”), hockey games, baseball games, museums…you name it, we’ve brought him! I can’t wait to share our little adventures with you, hope you enjoy tagging along our Journey.
Chat Soon,
Kaylesha
