Linguine with Homemade Garlic Herb Alfredo served with crispy butter bacon seasoned prawns
- prep time: 10-15 minutes
- cook time: 20-30mins
- total time: ~40 mins
Servings: Dinner for 4
Ingredients:
- 1 package Pasta Mancini Linguine
- 4 strips Meridian Double Smoked Bacon, cut into chunks
- 6 large Meridian Prawns
- 4 tbsp. butter, divided
- 5 garlic cloves, minced, divided
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Parsley for garnish, optional
Instructions:
- In a pan over medium-high heat, cook bacon chunks until crispy
- Remove bacon from pan and set on a paper-towel-lined plate
- Melt 2 tbsp. butter in the pan that had the bacon and add 1 minced garlic clove and the prawns
- Cook prawns until they are no longer transparent and are bouncy to the touch
- Remove prawns from pan and add to the same paper-towel-lined plate as the bacon
- Boil a large pot of very salted water over medium-high heat
- Once water is boiling, add linguine noodles and cook until they are soft to the bite
- Drain noodles (reserving one cup of pasta water) and return noodles to the empty pot
- In the same pan that the bacon and prawns were cooked in, turn the heat on medium, melt the remaining butter and add garlic, cooking until garlic is fragrant and begins to soften
- Add half of the flour and stir until well mixed
- Add the rest of the flour and stir until no lumps remain
- Begin pouring milk to the pan slowly and mix well until well integrated and sauce begins to thicken
- Add italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste
- Add parmesan cheese and stir until melted
- Pour sauce over noodles and add bacon and prawns
- Depending on the texture of your sauce, you can begin to add (slowly) the reserved pasta water until you have reached your desired consistency
- Serve pasta in a large bowl or plate and OF COURSE with garlic bread! Garnish with parsley, salt, pepper, and additional parmesan cheese to taste
